MULTICULTURAL EVENTS IN THE ARCTIC SPRINGTIME PANORAMA

Tour de Barents is more than just a traditional cross-country skiing event! Organisers together with their cooperation partners aim Tour de Barents to become a new meeting place for the top athletes, business and authorities in the most exciting region of the future, the Barents region.

The competition will be arranged during a time when the coming of spring is rejoiced in the Barents region. The programme includes various side events, such as a business seminar and a reindeer race. The strong northern ethnicity marks the Murmansk leg of the competition, in connection with which the 75th Festival of the North (Prazdnik Severa) is also held. Tour de Barents 2009 culminates around Easter, when the fell and ski resorts of the Barents region are full of people enjoying sun and ski.

Tour de Barents also supports the junior skiers of the Barents region by arranging their own tour in connection with the competition.
